Senior Pastor - Christ Baptist

Christ Baptist Church is located in Raleigh, NC with an economically and culturally diverse population. The church campus is large and can accommodate up to 1200 people attending any given service. The church was founded on the principle of providing a reverential and traditional worship service grounded in strong expository preaching and focused on doing all things to the glory of the Lord. We adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Our current membership is about 340 members and has been steadily growing this past year. The church has sufficient facilities to support children, youth, and adults including an outside recreation area. The church is elder led but congregationally governed and is extremely unified as a body. Some of our challenges at the moment are to continue to attract younger couples and adults and to find more ways to reach the lost individuals immediately surrounding us. We are seeking a Senior Pastor for Christ Baptist Church.

The following is a list of qualifications:
The Senior Pastor at Christ Baptist Church must have character above reproach with the qualifications of 1 Tim. 3:1-7. He must be an exemplary, prayerful man of God known for Christ-like humility, wisdom, and integrity. He must show a shepherding, loving, servant’s heart toward his family and his church family. He must hold to the infallibility, inerrancy, and sufficiency of God’s Word. He must have proven ability to preach and teach the truths of scripture in an expository manner. He must have a zeal for the Gospel, and be able and willing to defend the Word and confront false doctrine. We prefer biblical training from a theologically conservative seminary, ordination, and at least 5 years of experience in church ministry. The Senior Pastor’s primary role is to exercise his God given gifts as pastor and teacher to feed, protect, guide and equip his flock. He must be a diligent, thoughtful, articulate preacher of God’s Word. His preaching must reflect a passion for the glory of God and the truth of His Word, resulting in changed lives. He must be an effective spiritual leader of the staff, elders, deacons, and congregation. He will be mutually accountable with the other elders, and together they will provide for the oversight, welfare, and vision of the church.
