Administrative Assistant - Treasuring Christ

Treasuring Christ Church, Raleigh, NC is seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant to serve as the primary contact at their Lake Wheeler Road location.

The Administrative Assistant serves as the primary point of contact and lead for administrative functions at Treasuring Christ Church by working with the church elders, ministry leaders and volunteers to keep the church on mission through the coordination of scheduling, communication, and facility and resource management. The successful Administrative Assistant is organized and detail oriented in their work and passionate and humble in their work. They are flexible and are energized by a dynamic environment; are motivated through service and view administrative tasks as a key way to serve the church. Their positivity is evident throughout their work as their leadership in worship is an extension of their own personal worship and discipleship. What You'll Do
The Administrative Assistant serves as the primary coordinator of church administration and facility management in close consultation with the church elders and with support from the Director - Community, Care, and Connections. The role directly oversees all topics related to facility management including management of commercial lease agreements, short term rental agreements, tenant management, and facility scheduling. Additionally, the role supports administrative functions and church communication including website maintenance, scheduled church communication, coordination of facilities and supplies for events, maintenance of “Planning Center” software across ministries, and other administrative functions to support the mission and ministry of the church including the following responsibilities:
  • Coordinate facility management with all building tenants including, but not limited to: Rent and deposit collection, processing maintenance requests, processing additional facility requests, tenant relations, and other tasks as assigned
  • Coordinate facility management with all short term rental agreements including, but not limited to: Rent and deposit collection, processing supply or facility requests, scheduling, and other tasks as assigned
  • Coordinate facility management with all ministry events including, but not limited to: Processing supply or facility requests, scheduling, support with coordinating volunteers and/or childcare, and other tasks as assigned
  • Maintain core church communication channels including the website, scheduled email communication and other communication tasks in collaboration with the Director - Community, Care, and Connection and in consultation with the Pastor for Preaching, Service, and Vision
  • Maintain the effective use of the “Planning Center” software suite including: Calendar, Check-ins, Groups, People, and Services
  • Supports the Finance deacon as needed with financial reporting or other related tasks in collaboration with the Director - Community, Care, and Connection
  • Support in coordination and management of vendors for maintenance and facility requests in collaboration with the Pastor for Mission and Discipleship and other church facility leaders
  • Support the staff through effective organization and delegation of agreed tasks through the staff meeting process
  • Support the church eldership through effective organization and delegation of agreed tasks through the elder meeting process
  • Maintain church files in an efficient and effective manner to support overall organizational effectiveness
  • Support, in collaboration with the Director of Community, Care and Connections, communication strategies that engage and inspire church members and guests to engage in discipleship and service at TCC
  • Other duties as assigned by the church eldership as conveyed by your supervisor

What You'll Need
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least two (2) years experience in administrative assistance or
  • Associate’s Degree and at least three (3) years experience in administrative assistance or
  • No degree and at least five (5) years experience in administrative assistance
  • Ability to leverage Google Workspaces for document creation and management
  • Project management and change management skills
  • Effective at task management and follow up
  • Familiarity with basic web design implementation and editing
  • Ability to coordinate and manage church facilities and resources
  • Strong communication skills
  • An ability to build and maintain strong relationships among pastors, staff, and volunteers through collaboration
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles including billing

Employment at Treasuring Christ Church is contingent upon continued agreement with and practice of TCC’s statements of faith and church covenant. While all employees are required, as a condition of employment, to maintain agreement with TCC’s Member Statement of Faith and Church Covenant, employees classified as pastor (also elder) are required to maintain agreement with the Treasuring Christ Church Elder Affirmation of Faith. Employees are required as a condition of employment to abide by these principles as they represent and form our Code of Conduct. TCC reserves the right to update our statements of faith and church covenant according to our Church Constitution as needed.

What You'll Receive
This position is classified as non-exempt and is budgeted at an hourly rate of pay of $20.50 for approximately ten (10) hours per week and includes the following total compensation plan to help you lead at your best:
  • $10,660 annually
  • One week (10 hours) of flexible paid time off (PTO)
  • One week (10 hours) of fixed paid time off between December 24 - January 31
  • Other staff development resources as defined annually in the church budget
  • This position is eligible for hybrid work
